Our dust collection system is extremely powerful, and really helps to mitigate dust in our space. Please use it, especially when using the router table, table saw, jointer, or planer.
It’s located in the closet inside the woodshop. To turn it on, there is a green button on the left hand side. To turn it off, there is a red button right below it.
Never put metal shavings, metal objects or anything other than sawdust through this machine. Doing so is a serious fire safety hazard.
When you turn it on, please close the closet door to lessen the noise. The door is hard to close with the dust collection system on. Give it a good push. When you open the door, there will be excessive air pressure. Keep your face away from the door swing when it opens, because it could hurt.
Turn off the dust collection system when you are done using the equipment.
To mitigate airborne particles, you can also use our Jet Air Filtration system. We recommend wearing a face mask if you find yourself coughing and sneezing because of the dust or have asthma.
There is a secondary dust collection system in the closet specifically designated for the CNC machine. You do not need to turn this one on unless you are using the CNC.
