This beast of a dust collection system is a 3hp machine with a cyclone collection and HEPA dust filtration. It’s powerful enough to handle multiple sawdust-heavy tools at once. It’s also very quiet compared to similar dust collectors and is akin to the decibel reading of a planer. That being said, it still is loud, so please where ear protection when it is operating.

Use & Safety Checklist:

  1. Absolutely never put metal shavings, metal objects, or anything other than sawdust through this machine. Doing so is a serious fire safety hazard.

  2. Always wear safety glasses and hearing protection when operating.

  3. Use auditory and visual clues to notice any potential issues with the machine.

  4. Locate and test the emergency stop button prior to use.

  5. Ensure that blast gates are switched on or off based on the tools that are being used. Close blast gates for tools that are not in use. 

  6. Do not overload the dust collection machine beyond its rated capacity. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for maximum airflow and pressure.

  7. Avoid reaching into the ductwork or dust collection machine while it is in operation. Wait until the machine comes to a complete stop before making any adjustments or maintenance.

  8. Remove any wood chips, debris, or dust from the woodworking equipment and surrounding area using a brush or vacuum.

  9. Ensure that all blast gates are closed after use to prevent dust buildup in the ductwork.

  10. Turn off if not in use by anyone in the makerspace.
