Keep hands and other body parts clear of the sanding area, especially when the spindle is rotating. Never attempt to sand small or intricate pieces with your hands.

Choose the appropriate sanding sleeve for the task at hand. Ensure it is securely attached to the spindle.
Set the speed and table tilt according to the requirements of your specific sanding job.
Switch on the spindle sander and let it reach full speed before bringing your workpiece into contact with the sanding sleeve.
Move the workpiece against the rotation of the spindle, feeding it slowly and steadily into the sanding sleeve. Avoid aggressive or jerky movements.
Keep a firm grip on the workpiece and maintain control throughout the sanding process. Use push blocks or other aids for smaller pieces.
Watch the sanding progress and make adjustments as needed. If you notice any issues or inconsistencies, stop the machine and address them.
After completing the sanding job, switch off the spindle sander and wait for the spindle to come to a complete stop before removing the workpiece.
