Makerbot ABS Dual Extruder 3D Printer
Digital Fabrication
This MakerBot Replicator 2X is an oldie but a goodie. This is an ABS-specific printer and will not properly print PLA plastic. It is also capable of printing dissolvable support with one extruder and ABS plastic with the other. There are definitely some issues with the bed adhesion, so stick around for the first 2 print layers in case there is a print failure.

Use & Safety Checklist:
Printing ABS creates toxic fumes. Verify exhaust is working and turned on before using.
Verify door and top cover are closed before printing (for fumes, noise, and for best print results)
Manually calibrate bed if prints are failing.
Remove any filament scraps prior to printing. Scraps may clog up the wheels of the machine.
Verify plastics are loaded into the correct extruders before printing.
Use one layer of blue painters tape on the bed if prints are failing to adhere to the bed.
Remove any filament scraps or other debris, unload filament, and turn off machine when finished.
Best ABS Settings:
Optimal settings change based on filament brand, 3d printer, humidity, and temperature, but these ABS settings are a good starting point for most prints.
